I know my title is a bit much, but hear me out. I don't think that all customers are bad, quite the contrary. I love most of the customers that enter our theater. But sometimes, you have to wonder about people and they way they live their lives.
Case number one: We have a policy for carding for all rated R movies. Most of you readers have enjoyed the continuous battles with the teens over this. But, when an adult comes into the building and lies so that some kids can get in and then turns to the kids and says, "That's how you do it! Just say what ever lie you have to and you get what you want!" What is the lesson in that? I would be embarassed to teach that lesson to a young person. How far are you really going to get? I know, it's just a movie, but if that is the way people get around things. I feel sorry for the kids that look up to him as a role model. I wanted to shake that man so bad.
Case number two: An employee is working selling tickets. At the end of a very long night, a lady comes in and buys a couple of tickets. She pays the employee with a $100 bill. The employee not paying attention to what he should be doing, give her change, AND her $100. The woman looks at it, hesitates, then puts it in her pocket. She knew it wasn't right but kept it anyway. Okay, so the employee is at fault to begin with because he was stupid. But he has lost his job because of this. But the lady, she knew it was wrong but kept it anyway. That just floors me. I can't begin to imagine how she could have done that. Did she not at any point consider that in that one moment, she helped to get this guy fired. She could have done the right thing, gave the money back, and then the employee would still have a job. I'm sure he would have learned a valuable lesson on this one. I wished we could print her picture and let everyone know that she was the one. I would like to let her know that he was fired due to this incident and ask her how she feels about it. I understand that she was not at fault, he was, but once again, it's not like she put it up and didn't realize what happened. She LOOKED at it and then kept it. People!!!
I'm done complaining. Thanks for letting me vent. As for all the rest of the customers, they are great! I have several that I look forward to seeing every weekend. They harass me and make me smile. So until next time, see you at the movies!
