Extra Security Needed...Oh Great!

I stopped by work yesterday to see a movie. I found out that we are going to have extra security for the release of "Resident Evil". This is just great! In other words...We the employees are going to be treated like shit.

Of course as in the past, Friday night will be all the black kids treating everyone like they are shit. They will be shocked to find out we card for rated R movies even though we've done this for a year now. The kids are the same ones, they do this every weekend, they show no respect for anyone. I'm sure I'll be cussed out by them as well as their "parent" (the one they begged outside to get their tickets).

Saturday will be white night. In this I mean that all the kids will be white and treat us the same as the Friday night group. The only exception is the white kids will treat us as if they are better than us. They too will be shocked that we card them. The exception is that they will expect us to let them in because we should. What a joke. HELLO!!!!!

Then all of them will be spending majority of their time in the lobby trying to either sneak a friend in or being loud. The police will tell them to get to their movie but they will only take 10 minutes to do it. Of course they turn around and go right back to the lobby.

I can go on forever about this, but I'll wait until this weekend to give a detailed account of the action. Until then, happy movie watching. By the way, NEVER, EVER, EVER see a horror or thriller movie on opening weekend in the evening. You won't enjoy it.

Ya Friday and saturday nights suck butt, because as a fellow employee being treated like crap sucks. Everyone talks down to you like their better then you even though you have a job and most of them don't know what work is.

I feel your pain, although I have never worked in a theater before. I hate going to opening nights of any movie because of the snot-nosed, punk, brat teenagers that are going to be there making loud obnoxious noises as they sit in front of me or kick the back of my chair while they sit behind me. Going to a movie on opening night is a test of my ability to not get up and punch the first teenager that utterly annoys the piss out of me.

They should use movie theaters as a workshop for people being treated for anger management to see if they could handle it at all. I don't think I could. Kudos to you for having the will power to stop that cocked back fist from busting in the teeth of the first kid that comes along and thinks he is better than you even though we both know that he will end up working at McDonald's in 3 years anyway.

ok, I gotta ask this...is it seriously mostly black kids friday night and white kids saturday night?

Secondly (getting away from racial topics) people being annoying in theaters. Seriously I worked at Diana Theater in Tipton in high school. It was a very nice environment and people for the most part treated you well...I rocked that place! I had to be security in there though as well. Kids can be little shits. I used to bust them to get em quiet, I even kicked a few out. As far as going back to a theater today and watching a movie, I must for the most part go to movies after they have been out for a while.

Nonetheless, I still run into seat kickers and talkers. WHAT THE HELL IS UP WITH THESE PEOPLE?!?! I will not hesitate after the first couple kicks or talking to look back at someone to give them the HAIRY EYEBALL. Generally I have no probs after this and people stop. But dammit, I will get vocal after that, why do people insist on ruining everyones movie night, especially when it cost $30 to take a date with you?

Ok I am done now...sorry for the rambling....ha ha, see you in class.

This is so true of the midwest theater experience. I've had many pleasant movie-going evening ruined by some inconsiderate youth. Everytime I’m amazed at the behavior. I know for certain that I wasn’t that way when I was there age.

And we wonder why its harder and harder for the movie industry to cut a profit!
