Today was the opening day for Twilight. It was a sold out crazy night. We had 3 midnight shows and sold about 700 tickets to them. Lucky for me, I didn't work it. But, I had to work tonight. We sold out 6 shows, over 2,000 people in a matter of hours. It was wall to wall people. Mostly teens, but they were all pretty nice. No real assholes in the bunch tonight. It was a nice change from the usual teen movies. Oh but, there were some issues. There is no such thing as a perfect teen movie.
We had a group of 25 people, (2 adults, 23 teens), show up for the 7:00pm show. Now it was sold out, in fact, it had been sold out for almost 3 hours. They had their tickets, but they showed up at 7:05pm and expected to sit together. We found seats for them, in the front 2 rows, but the woman complained it hurt her neck to look up. The teens didn't seem to mind. So we switched all their tickets to the 7:30pm show. Did that do the trick, not for the woman, she wanted to sit in the center of the stadium seats. My boss told her too bad, unless they wanted to wait until 10pm show. That shut her up.
The only thing was teens getting picked up and hour after the movie ended. A couple of kids were left by their friends and had to wait for their parents to come to get them. Of course, they lived and hour away. I'd be pissed at my friends if they pulled that shit on me. To make it worse, there was only a half an hour difference between the shows ending. Some friend, couldn't wait 30 minutes.
Oh well, that's all to tell for tonight. Until next time, see you at the movies!
